Portland, OR – David A. Thompson founded TEC Equipment in 1976 when he started selling used trucks in Portland, Oregon. 40 years later, joined by his sons David O., Chris and William, TEC has grown to become the leading multi-point truck and trailer dealership on the west coast.

TEC Equipment, Inc.’s growth in the dealership industry is unprecedented. Our expansion from a single used truck center in Portland, Oregon to 24 truck and trailer dealerships in 16 cities in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, and Arizona is a tribute to this. Our focused strategy has yielded years of profitability, market share growth and financial stability.

TEC Equipment has focused its growth along the Interstate 5 corridor. It is the route many of our original customers traveled and on which they continue to operate on today. Covering more than 2,000 miles of I-5, TEC Equipment is the only dealership group to offer this footprint seamless service, reliable pricing, discounted fuel, and extended hours.
